Stramonium (Thorn-apple), a powerful and deep-acting homoeopathic medicine from Solanaceć family, known for its profound effects on the mind and nervous system, particularly in cases where delirium, hallucinations, spasmodic movements, and emotional extremes are present. The medicine acts strongly on the brain, with secondary influence over the eyes, throat, and skin, often indicated in states of intense fear, mania, and suppressed eruptions. It is especially suited to individuals experiencing violent mental or physical symptoms without corresponding pain, often with a marked absence of muscular control and strong fear of darkness or solitude. SBL's Stramonium can be helpful in the following conditions: Mental & Emotional Disturbances Indicated in cases of delirium tremens, mania, hallucinations, and emotional instability with rapid alternations between joy and sadness. Suited to people who are loquacious, garrulous, and exhibit behaviors such as laughing, praying, swearing, rhyming, or even talking with imaginary beings. Strong fear of being alone or in the dark, with a need for constant light and company. Exhibits religious delusions, identity confusion (believing a body part is missing or oneself to be double or extremely tall). Used in puerperal mania, particularly where loquacity and inappropriate behavior appear post-delivery. Gastric Troubles Stramonium helps in managing loss of taste, where food may seem like sand or straw. It aids in relieving nausea and vomiting, often of sour or greenish mucus, and helps in burning or pressing stomach pain.
