Solanum nigrum is a well-known homoeopathic medicine derived from the Black Nightshade plant of Solanaceae family. It acts deeply on the nervous system, brain, eyes, skin, and respiratory tract, showing marked effects in conditions involving tetanic spasms, delirium, skin eruptions, and fever states. It is particularly helpful in meningitis, brain irritation, scarlet fever, and toxic states marked by black or ulcerating skin lesions. Solanum nigrum is also used for violent restlessness, vertigo, and eye disorders with visual disturbances.
