Mezereum is a deeply acting and valuable homoeopathic medicine prepared from the bark of the Daphne mezereum plant, commonly known as Spurge Olive. It exerts a strong influence on the skin, bones, and nervous system, making it particularly useful in chronic inflammatory skin conditions, neuralgias, and affections of the long bones. This medicine is highly indicated in eczema, ulcerating skin eruptions, bone pain, and facial neuralgia, with symptoms marked by burning, itching, and shooting pain, often aggravated by cold air and at night. It also has a significant action on the gastrointestinal tract, urinary organs, and reproductive system, making it a versatile choice for both chronic and acute pathologies involving inflammation, hypersensitivity, and glandular swelling. Common Name English: Spurge Olive SBL's Mezereum can be helpful in the following conditions: Skin Eruptions & Bone Affections • Highly useful in eczema with intolerable itching, with chilliness, especially worse at night and in bed. • Useful in ulcerating eruptions covered with thick scabs, under which purulent discharge collects. • Indicated in chronic skin eruptions post-vaccination or after suppression of eruptions. Red face with eruptions around mouth associated with coryza. • Relieves burning, darting pains in long bones, especially the tibia, with marked aggravation at night and from touch. • Supports cases of bone inflammation, caries, exostosis, and periosteal pain—particularly in damp weather or at night. Decaying of the roots of teeth. Neuralgia and Nervous System • Excellent medicine for violent facial and dental neuralgia, often shooting toward the ear and worse at night. • Neuralgic pain is shooting, drawing, and may cause patient to feel lifted from the bed. • Useful in ciliary neuralgia, especially following eye surgeries, with cold sensations and radiating pain. • Relieves subsultus tendinum (twitching of tendons), often linked to nervous irritability and pain. Headache and Scalp Eruptions • Indicated in stupefying headache on the right side, worse from talking or exertion. Headache, with shuddering and shivering, worse in open air. • Manages scaly eruptions and thick crusts on the scalp, often with pus beneath with painful sensitiveness of scalp. • Reduces violent, pulsative, and pressive pains in whole head, forehead, nose, and teeth, worse by the slightest movement. Nose, Ears & Eyes Pain • Useful in post-nasal adenoids, coryza, and sneezing with excoriated nasal mucosa. • Ears feel as if cold air is blowing in, with desire to bore fingers into them. • Assists neuralgia of the eyes, especially after enucleation (removal), with pain radiating downward with cold feeling and stiffness of bone.

Avoid strong smells (onion, hing, mint, garlic) during use. Allow 15 minutes gap between two homoeopathic medicines, 30 mins gap between Homoeopathic medicines and food, or one hour gap between Homoeopathic medicines or another system of medicines.
