Kalium nitricum is a valuable homoeopathic medicine prepared through trituration or aqueous solution from Nitrate of Potassium, known for its action on the respiratory tract, heart, kidneys, and gastrointestinal system. It is especially indicated in conditions involving asthma, cardiac asthma, phthisis relapse, and dropsical swellings. The medicine is characterized by symptoms of burning, constriction, vertigo, and sudden weakness, and acts profoundly on both acute and chronic inflammatory and suppurative states. It supports cases of membranous diarrhoea, ovarian pain, cloudy vision, and bloody expectoration, often with an underlying asthmatic or nephritic base. Supports in bronchitis with sharp, short cough, chest pain, and tightness. Indicated in cardiac asthma with excessive dyspnoea, burning chest pain, and difficulty drinking due to breathlessness. Relieves spasmodic croup and laryngeal diphtheria. Useful in acute pulmonary congestion and phthisis exacerbations. Headache and Tiredness Manages dull headaches with vertigo, especially felt as falling backwards or to the right. Helpful in mental ennui, tiredness, and lack of initiative. Peevishness, despondency and uneasiness. Scalp remains very sensitive to touch and pressure. Headache in vertex on rising and heaviness of the head, in morning, as after intoxication. Vision Disturbances Indicated in cloudy vision and visual disturbances like variegated rings before the eyes. Turbid vitreous humor; photophobia, burning and lachrymation worse in morning, after washing with cold water.
