Helleborus niger, commonly known as Snow Rose or Christmas Rose, is a powerful homoeopathic medicine derived from the root of the Helleborus niger plant belonging from Ranunculaceae family. Traditionally valued for its deep action on the nervous system and sensorium, it is especially useful in conditions involving mental dullness, sensorial depression, hydrocephalus, and muscular weakness. In homoeopathy, Helleborus is primarily used to manage symptoms of brain affections, neurological decline, and low states of vitality. It is also employed to aid in post-illness recovery, improve cognitive response, and support fluid balance in the body. Helleborus niger is helpful in unconscious states, meaningless picking of lips or clothes, and frequent sighing. • Hydrocephalus and Brain Affections Useful in assisting hydrocephalus, especially with fluid accumulation (effusion) in the brain. Relieves symptoms such as head rolling, moaning, vomiting, and boring head into the pillow. • Squinted Eye with Dilated Pupils Provides relief in night-blindness, upward turning of eyes, and dilated pupils.
