Cactus grandiflorus, derived from the Selenicereus spinulosus species of Cactaceae family, is a well-known homoeopathic medicine with a marked influence on circular muscular fibers. Its action is particularly pronounced on the heart and arterial system, where it produces distinctive constrictive sensations—often described as being bound by an iron band. These sensations may extend to the esophagus, bladder, and uterus. This medicine is also known for its utility in hemorrhagic conditions, periodic symptoms, spasmodic pains, and mental states of melancholy and fear. Useful in angina pectoris with suffocative constriction, cold sweat, and shooting pain down the left arm. Cactus grandiflorus supports conditions such as endocarditis with mitral insufficiency, arteriosclerosis, and early cardiac incompetence.
