Ruta graveolens, commonly known as Rue, is a homoeopathic medicine derived from the herb of the same name. Belonging to the Rutaceae family, it has been traditionally valued for its therapeutic properties in treating musculoskeletal and eye disorders. In homoeopathy, Ruta graveolens is used to alleviate symptoms of sprains, strains, and injuries to cartilages, periosteum and tendons. It is also employed for its effects on eye strain, eye strain induced headaches, and conditions like asthenopia. Strain Injuries It is beneficial for complaints arising from straining flexor tendons and overstrains of ocular muscles. Commonly used for sprains and lameness resulting from such injuries, including a bruised feeling in bones and muscles.
