Aletris farinosa is a valuable and important homoeopathic medicine prepared from the root of Aletris farinosa, a plant belonging to the Hæmodoraceæ family. Commonly known as Star Grass or Colic Root, it is especially suited to anaemic and debilitated women, particularly those suffering from uterine weakness, prolapse, leucorrhœa, and habitual miscarriage. The medicine is characterized by profound tiredness, muscular weakness, and inability to sustain energy, especially in cases of chlorosis, pregnancy-related issues, and nervous dyspepsia. It also exerts a notable influence on the digestive system, rectum, chest, and limbs. Excessive Salivation and Dry Cough • Supports relief in excessive frothy salivation. • Assists in dry, tickling, short cough on waking that becomes spasmodic and worsens with talking. • Cough may lead to loss of breath and cyanosis; relieved when menses arrive earlier than expected. • Useful when there is a desire to cough without being able to produce one.
